Overview

Are you tired of stanky gear? Sick of getting visits from your old friend the worm? Do you almost pass out when you open your gym bag because of the smell? Well worry no more! Introducing Fight Gear Spray by Fight Soap! /end Billy Mays voice. In all seriousness, this stuff is pretty sweet. Each bottle contains lots of cool ingredients such as-

  • aloe juice
  • Tea Tree oil
  • Litsea Cubeba oil
  • Black Willow Bark oil
  • Witch Hazel
If you follow Fight Soap on facebook (and you should) you will see these guys are like mad chemists always talking about mixing up bigger and better batches of things. Pretty interesting stuff actually. Now as a disclaimer, I have never had ring worm or anything like that before using this product, and I remain ring worm free while using this product. So I can't really speak to the antimicrobial properties they claim, but I can talk about the smelly side of things.

What To Use It On

The Fight Gear Spray by Fight Soap is perfect for cleaning out the inside of your gear bag. I admit I really should wash my gear bag more often than I do, but I end up forgetting and the smell just keeps building until my girl friend starts yelling. With the gear spray it's really just as simple as a couple sprays on the inside of the bag and a wipe down with a paper towel if I want.

This stuff is also really good on thin material like my Manto Beast rash guard or a pair of fight shorts. I think I actually used this stuff the most on my rash guards because they tend to soak up the most nasty stuff during training. Since a rash guard is so thin, it's really easy for it to absorb the spray. I normally would just turn the rash guard inside out and spray it down both front and back. After that I would leave it to dry and then throw it in the wash like normal. I actually tried to use it on a Gi or two and had mixed results. I think it's because a Gi is pretty thick and it takes a lot of the spray to really saturate the material enough to notice a difference. Since the bottles are somewhat small I gave up on that and decided to save it for other gear instead. Be warned this stuff is super strong and you will want to use it in a well ventilated area. The first couple times I used this, I smelled up the kitchen and gave myself a headache. I also recommend washing your hands after you apply the gear spray because it can get on your hands and cause you to smell like a walking Tea Tree oil dispenser.

Conclusion

Super powerful, easy to use, and seems to work. Like I said if you stick to rash guards, fight shorts, and gear like gym bags a bottle of this stuff will last you a good while and it's a decent price. One thing I'm happy to report, is they have changed the spray handle on the newer bottles. The one that came with mine left you no real control over how the spray came out and in my opinion was too fine of a mist. These guys are always coming up with new stuff and I'm excited to see what they will put out next.
