Overview
CONCA is a new brand that is getting ready to unleash on the Bjj scene. Like many of you I had never heard of them when they first reached out to me to review their new rashguard. I always enjoy showing new brands and options to you guys, and I feel it's part of my job as a reviewer. So read on for the full review Gear Junkies!
The Fit
I'm 5'7" and 165lbs. I had them send me a medium size because I always want my rashguards to be nice and tight. For whatever reason I hate the feeling of rolling with something loose fitting under my gi like a normal t-shirt, so I always get a medium. The fit and feel of the CONCA rashguard is really decent. The sleeve length is just about right (keep in mind I have really short arms) and the overall length of the body is good. I had no issues with it riding up and becoming a belly shirt, but it did come untucked a few times from my gi pants. I'm pleased to say that I had no issues with any seams irritating my skin.
Durability
I was impressed by the quality of the CONCA rashguard. All of the seams were properly stitched and I have had no issues after washing and rolling in it several times. I do recommend keeping Velcro away from this rashguard. I would say overall it's tougher than my Scramble Bushido Athletics rashguard, but it still has a bit of a silky feel and that makes me worry about washing it with things like my knee brace.
The Cool Factor
I think the cool factor in this CONCA Bjj rashguard is that it has good quality and a pretty snazy looking design for such a new brand. Just think, you could be a trend setter at your next grappling tournament or training session if you wanted to be. I hope we continue to see the same level of quality and cool designs coming from CONCA in the future.
Where To Buy
